Zachman Awarded Grant for Series of Calvin Lectures

Author: Arts and Letters

Randall Zachman, professor of reformation studies, was awarded a $40,000 grant from the Louisville Institute for his project, “Ravished with Wonder: John Calvin and the God Who Is Love.” The project is based on the Warfield Lectures that Zachman has been invited to give at Princeton Theological Seminary in October of 2009. Zachman will later write a book based on the lectures.

The Louisville Institutes’ Christian Faith and Life Grant Program supports research projects by academics and pastors that examine how religious believers can relate themes of Christian faith to contemporary life.

Zachman’s scholarly interest is the history of Christian thought from the Reformation period to the present. He has published a number of works in this area, including his most recent book, Image and Word in the Theology of John Calvin (University of Notre Dame Press, 2007).
