“To get to your ultimate goal, your ultimate dream in life, it’s so important to get experience outside the classroom in the real world, and the internship is the perfect opportunity to do that,” said Adam Llorens ’14, a film, television, theatre major in Notre Dame’s College of Arts and Letters. Llorens interned at CBS News in New York City in the summer of 2013 and is now a researcher at CBS This Morning.
Since 2010, more than 200 Arts and Letters students have received in excess of $500,000 in funding from the Arts and Letters Summer Internship Program (ALSIP). The program supports students in both paid and unpaid internships in any industry or location around the world.
Anna VanEgmond ’14, a sociology and computer applications major, received an ALSIP grant to intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago. Following graduation, she accepted a position with PwC as an IT advisory associate. VanEgmond said her internship was a vital part of her education.
“Walking into these professional environments as an intern, you see that being in the College of Arts and Letters, you’ve been given the foundation to succeed,” she said.
