Maria Tomasula, Michael P. Grace Associate Professor of Art, Art History and Design, delivered the most recent lecture in the University of Notre Dame’s Saturday Scholar Series, “Vast: The Art of Maria Tomasula,” on Nov. 19.

An award-winning painter, Tomasula’s work recalls the paintings of 18th- and early 19th-century Spanish Baroque religious artists. Her presentation explored the inspiration and technique of her highly stylized, symbolic compositions.The presentation, held in the Snite Museum of Art, included slides of Tomasula’s work.
