Aquinas At 800

The international conference “Aquinas at 800: Ad multos annos,” will be held September 22-25, 2024, at the University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame, IN, USA). This conference celebrates the 800th anniversary of the birth of Thomas Aquinas, exploring the ongoing importance of his thought to contemporary cultural, philosophical, and theological discussions.

The conference features four keynote speakers:

  • Fr. Serge-Thomas Bonino, O.P, Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Rome)
  • Dr. Jean Porter, University of Notre Dame (South Bend)
  • Dr. Rudi te Velde, Tilburg School of Catholic Theology (Utrecht)
  • Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P., Pontifical University of St. Thomas (Rome)

Additionally, more than thirty other invited speakers from around the globe have committed to presenting semi-plenary papers.

After an outstanding response to the conference's call for papers, over 120 additional speakers will present submitted papers in concurrent sessions.

Conference papers represent Aquinas' contributions in a variety of disciplines, including the following: Ethics, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Anthropology, Psychology, Political Theory, Christology, Trinitarian Theology, Sacramental Theology and Ecclesiology.
