The Center for the Study of Religion and Society, together with the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism and the Center for Ethics and Culture, will hold a book launch party to celebrate the publication of Mary Ellen Konieczny’s book, The Spirit’s Tether: Family Work and Religion Among American Catholics (Oxford University Press 2013).
Mary Ellen Konieczny is an assistant professor of sociology and a faculty fellow at the Center for the Study of Religion and Society. Her research interests revolve around the broad themes of religion and family life and religion in American democracy. She is particularly interested in exploring how culture and social processes in local contexts intersect with discourse and politics in the public sphere.
