Elder Bruce Porter, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Porter has served the church as a bishop, branch president, stake president’s counselor, and full-time missionary. Since being called as a general authority, he has served in the Europe East Area Presidency, the Salt Lake City Area Presidency, and on the Middle East desk. He is currently serving as the executive director of the correlation department of the church.

Prior to his full-time Church service, Porter was a professor of political science at Brigham Young University. Earlier, he was executive director of the U.S. Board for International Broadcasting and a research fellow at Harvard University. He has also served as an analyst for the Northrop Corporation and as a staff member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee.
