Directed by acclaimed Japanese Academy Award winner Yoichi Sai, Kamui (2009) centers on a solitary outcast ninja who joins up with a band of renegades to avenge the misdeeds of his former clan. Previously adapted as both a manga and an anime, the Kamui story remains a popular legend both in Japan and abroad.
