The Power of Image: Black Women in Memory, Protest, and History

The 2011–2012 Erskine Peters fellows will explore the depiction of black women in history—and how that depiction has been constructed, manipulated, and co-opted to serve multiple social and political ends.

This event is the 2011 Erskine Peters Symposium. A reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., and the symposium will commence at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
