Art Department Lecture: Eric Fleischauer

Eric Fleischauer is a Chicago-based artist, curator, and educator. His work examines the ramifications of technology’s expansive influence on both the collective culture and the individual. Going Through utilizes computer generated screenshots and single-channel videos that compel the viewer to examine their relationship to technology and contemporary art’s current moment.

Eric Fleischauer teaches in the department of Film, Video, New Media, and Animation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Recent exhibitions have included POST-CURSOR, a solo exhibition at Threewalls in Chicago, as well as group shows at the Concoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Hyde Park art Center in Chicago, and Videonale 12 at the Kunstmuseum in Bonn, Germany.
