Fischoff quartet

The Old City String Quartet brings a youthful enthusiasm and musical conviction to its repertoire that is truly its own. As the Grand Prize and String Division Gold Medal Winner of the 2010 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the quartet is appearing here as part of the Fischoff Grand Prize Winner’s Tour.

Formed at the Curtis Institute of Music in 2008, the ensemble studies with renowned chamber musicians Shmuel Ashkenasi, Arnold Steinhardt, Peter Wiley and Joseph Silverstein who has said of the group, “The Old City String Quartet is one of the finest string quartets I have ever heard. I expect to see the ensemble reach international acclaim.”
