A trio of musicians from the American Wild Ensemble presents a new youth and family program, Wild Imagination: The Magic of Musical Storytelling. This collection of commissions for flute, clarinet, and cello is designed to introduce our youngest listeners to the music of living composers and will delight audiences of all ages!
The program of music and narration features new musical settings for beloved children's literature: Arnold Lobel's Owl at Home (set by Notre Dame composer John Liberatore), Leo Lionni's Pezzetino (set by Daniel Pesca), poems by Longfellow (Ingrid Stoelzel), and a new children's book by Jennifer Murvin, written for the occasion.
This concert is free and open to the public. The St. Joseph County Public Library is a partner for this event, and representatives from the library will set up information in the lobby to raise money and awareness about the library's youth literacy programming. The musicians will also sell CDs at the event, the proceeds of which will benefit the same charity.
