There Is No Evil

The Liu Institute's Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) Working Group is sponsoring a screening of the film There Is No Evil. An anthology film that was secretly shot and smuggled out of Iran, "There Is No Evil" comprises four moral tales of individuals faced with the harrowing choice to follow orders to enforce the death penalty, or resist and risk painful reprisal. This suspenseful, mysterious, and award winning film directed by Mohammad Rasoulof with Kaveh Ahangar Mahtab and Servati Baran Rasoulof raises the question of individual moral responsibility in the face of tyranny and gives an acute perspective of the moral strength and inner humanity of its protagonists.
