About the Panel
Panelists will discuss China’s contemporary relations with African countries in celebration of the release of the updated Chinese edition of China and Africa: A Century of Engagement (Chinese University of Hong Kong Press) by Joshua Eisenman and David H. Shinn. Originally published in English in 2012 by the University of Pennsylvania Press, China and Africa examines a broad range of elements that make up China’s relationship with African countries, including politics, trade, investment, foreign aid, military, security, and culture.
