Please join us in welcoming Michael Hainey as he speaks about his career and gives a reading from his memoir, After Visiting Friends: A Son's Story. His acclaimed memoir, published in 2013, is about the death of his father under mysterious circumstances when he was a young boy.
Hainey, an ND English alumnus, has had a multifaceted career in the worlds of journalism, editing, and creative nonfiction publication. He has held high-profile positions at GQ from 1999 to 2016, Esquire from 2016 to 2019, and most recently Air Mail, a new digital weekly started by the former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair.
