Lecture: "Myanmar: A New Democracy in Crisis"

-

Location: C103 Hesburgh Center for International Studies

In this lecture, Stephen Gray, Director at Adapt Research and Consulting, will provide an overview of the challenges facing the South East Asian nation of Myanmar, paying particular attention to the Rohingya crisis and the government’s peace process with close to 20 ethno-political, non-state armed groups. His presentation will explore the interests and relationships between Myanmar’s government, army, non-state actors and business elites, as well as describe how these interests and relationships hinder contemporary peacebuilding efforts.

All are welcome.
