Join the Department of English and the Medieval Institute at Notre Dame for a lecture by Jessica Brantley of Yale University. Jessica Brantley’s scholarly interests include Old and Middle English literatures, manuscript studies, text/image relations, and the history of the book. She examines the cultures of medieval reading as they are preserved in manuscripts. Her first book is Reading in the Wilderness: Private Devotion and the Public Performance in Late Medieval England (University of Chicago Press, 2007).
