Lecture: Literacy, Hope, and Healing

David Kirkland will offer an address on campus about the importance of education and literacy in community building. Kirkland is the executive director of The NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and The Transformation of Schools. He is author of A Search Past Silence, “English(es) in urban contexts: Politics, Pluralism, and Possibilities,” and “We real cool: Examining Black Males and Literacy.”
