William J. Bauer; associate professor of history; University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Bauer is a member of the Wailacki and Concow of the Round Valley Indian Tribes of California. He received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Notre Dame and completed his master’s and Ph.D. at the University of Oklahoma.
His recent publications include “We Were All Migrant Workers Here”: Labor, Community and Memory on California’s Round Valley Reservation, 1850–1941 (2009), and his works in progress include “Growing Old in Indian Country: Elderly Indians in the American West Since 1850.”
