Sandeep Narayan is one of the most sought after rising stars of Carnatic (South Indian classical) music today. After receiving his initial training in the United States from his mother, Shubha Narayan, he relocated to Chennai in 1996 and underwent rigorous training from one of the most revered musicologists, Calcutta K.S. Krishnamurthy, and has continued under Sanjay Subrahmanyan since 1999. He has performed widely in India, the U.S., the U.K., and South East Asia, and has won numerous awards, including the Best Concert Award from the Music Academy in Madras in 2010 and 2011.
