The Second African Synod defined the promotion of reconciliation, justice, and peace as the mission of the Church in the coming decades. What implications do these themes have for the continent of Africa and the African Church in the era of globalization? What and how could people contribute toward the realization of this mission? These and other questions will be explored as part of a panel discussion on the Second African Synod, held in Rome in October 2009, with special reference to the recently released collection of essays entitled _Reconciliation, Justice, and Peace: The Second African Synod_ (Orbis 2011).
