Adapted from Hiroshi Mori’s novel, The Sky Crawlers (2008) portrays an alternate history populated by “Kildren,” teenage pilots genetically engineered to entertain the masses with their staged air battles. When an ace pilot falls in love, he seeks an alternative to his preconceived design.
