Soprano Georgine Resick and pianist Paivi Ekroth will present an all French concert, Paradise to Opium Den, on the Notre Dame campus. Join the artists for a journey through the vivid contrasts of French musical landscape. Visit Gabriel Fauré’s version of paradise in his masterpiece "La Chanson d’Ève.” Stroll Parisian boulevards via Francis Poulenc’s songs to texts of some of his most beloved poets. After a detour through unusual settings by Manuel de Falla of French ‘exotic’ poetry, sojourn in the opium den courtesy of Jean Cras’ settings of several poems from Omar Khayyam’s Rubaiyat.
