Panel Discussion: Black Nature: Four Centuries of African American Nature Poetry

This event features Ruth Ellen Kocher, E. Ethelbert Miller, Evie Shockley, and Gregory Pardlo, contributors to the book Black Nature: Four Centuries of African American Poetry.

This is the first of two events for Cave Canem at Notre Dame. The second will be a reading, signing, and reception for the book from 7:00pm–9:00pm at the Legends Courtyard and Clubhouse.

Cornelius Eady, associate professor of English at Notre Dame, and Toi Derricotte founded Cave Canem in 1996 in order to give African American poets a place of their own in the literary landscape. Cave Canem is a home for the many voices of African American poetry and is committed to cultivating the artistic and professional growth of African American poets.
