John Scanlon ’17 (Political Science) returns to campus to spend time with Arts & Letters students interested in careers in government, public policy, politics, and the health care industry. He looks forward to sharing insights from his time in Washington, D.C., and beyond—and to connecting with students eager to make an impact in those fields.

John will discuss how students with liberal arts backgrounds can lead at the intersection of policy, health care, and government. He spent four years in the Biden White House, most recently as Special Assistant to the President, Senior Policy Advisor, and Director of Strategic Planning in the Office of the First Lady, where he helped lead the Cancer Moonshot and White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research.
