A panel discussion designed specifically for postdoctoral scholars on strategies for publishing in academic journals. Panelists addressed three common approaches, offering practical advice: developing a dissertation chapter into an article, transforming a dissertation “rabbit hole” into a publishable piece, and writing an article based on a new line of research.
The panel featured Anna Haskins, Andrew V. Tackes Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology; Daniel Hobbins, Associate Professor in the Department of History; and Matthew Payne, Associate Professor in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre. Each panelist will speak briefly for five to ten minutes, after which the discussion will open to questions from attendees. This format is designed to give participants ample opportunity to raise their own questions about the publishing process and receive guidance tailored to their scholarly needs.
