Inaugural Speaker: Whitney Battle-Baptiste

Whitney Battle-Baptiste will give her talk "Objects of Otherness: A Practice in Understanding the Dimensions of Black Materiality."

Battle-Baptiste is a Professor of Anthropology and Director of the W. E. B. Du Bois Center at UMass Amherst, and her research is primarily focused on how the intersection of race, gender, class and sexuality look through an archaeological lens.
