Fall 2018 Inclusive Excellence Workshops

-

Location: McKenna Hall Auditorium (View on map )

This event is part of a broader lineup of workshops on inclusive excellence taking place throughout the fall 2018 semester and beyond.

“The History of Underrepresented Groups in the American Educational System” will explore the social contexts of American education, educational care, and minority experience in American public education as presented by Maria McKenna, Associate Professor of the Practice in the Department of Africana Studies. Attendees will gain an understanding of the historical and continuing challenges to educational attainment faced by underrepresented groups. Although each workshop is designed to stand alone, attendees will find this presentation provides a foundation and context for the workshops on “Inclusive Advising and Teaching” and “Supporting Special Student Populations at Notre Dame” that will take place later in the semester.

Attendance is free and open to all members of the Notre Dame community, but advance registration is required.
