Symposium: The Colonial Caribbean in Context

The Department of History is pleased to announce “The Colonial Caribbean in Context,” a symposium sponsored by the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts, Henkels Lecture Seri. The symposium features a series of talks by visiting scholars, current Notre Dame faculty, and graduate students on a variety of topics pertaining to European colonialism in the Caribbean between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries.

This symposium will begin with a graduate student panel. Garrett Fontenot, Maria Cecilia Ulrickson, Dylan M. LeBlanc, and Jay Miller will present original research and discuss methods and problems in approaching the history of the colonial Caribbean in an broadly Atlantic framework.

It will end on February 8 with a Lunch and Symposium.
