ScreenPeace Film Festival 2013: "Normal!"

-

Location: Browning Cinema, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center

This year’s ScreenPeace Film Festival presents five critically acclaimed films that revolve around the theme of nonviolent resistance.

All films are free, but ticketed.

Normal! (2011)

Filmmaker Merzak Allouache had started making a film on corruption in the Algerian cultural ministry, but funding was cut. After the launch of the Arab Spring, he created this unconventional “film within a film,” showing the actors (and the audience) outtakes from earlier footage to get their reactions and decide how to finish the film.

An introduction to the film and post-screening discussion will be led by Alison Rice, associate professor of French.

Tickets are available at performing arts.nd.edu or by calling the box office at 574.631.2800.
