Rev. Marvin O’Connell has been a member of Notre Dame’s faculty since 1972. He is a distinguished historian and has authored numerous books, including the authoritative biography of Edward Sorin, C.S.C., histories of the Reformation, the Counter-Reformation, Catholic Modernism, the Oxford Movement, and a novel. This conference honors the breadth and depth of his scholarly work and long service to Notre Dame.
