Overload

Definition

A normal course load in the College of Arts and Letters is five courses. The maximum number of credit hours per semester is 17.

Eligibility

Only sophomores with a minimum GPA of 3.7, juniors with a minimum GPA of 3.5, and seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 may apply for overloads.

Procedure

Overloads for juniors and seniors are allowed only with the permission of the deans in the Office for Undergraduate Studies and only during the designated days of the enrollment period in the first six days of each semester.
