Charting a career path isn’t always linear, and the College of Arts & Letters is home to a program that meets students where they are. Beyond the Dome (BTD) helps students navigate that exploration with confidence, connecting their interests, values, and experiences to meaningful next steps.
The program serves as the preeminent career development program for students in the College of Arts & Letters. More than just guiding students toward discovering job opportunities, this program helps students envision their post-grad lives on a holistic level that takes into account their passions, lifestyle, and purpose.
BTD categorizes careers in their seven career communities through which students participate in workshops, speaker series, and networking events to maximize their exposure and interactions with peers and employers:

Beyond the Dome exists far beyond its office at O’Shaughnessy Hall — it lives in students’ residence halls too. The Peers2Careers Hall Ambassador Program ensures that undergraduate Arts & Letters students are connected in their communities and given the opportunity to cultivate their career interests. BTD supports representatives in organizing events, from resume workshops to networking sessions, to ensure that a thriving space exists within each residence hall for Arts & Letters students to navigate career development resources.
Recently, BTD hosted several interactive workshops and events on campus to engage students with career interests and professional development opportunities, featuring visits from well-known companies such as McKinsey & Company, AlphaSights, Citi, Delta Air Lines, and others.
BTD also hosts an approachable podcast called “You’re Probably Okay,” which features an array of successful individuals who all share one common tie: a liberal arts background. Guests discuss the skills they gained through their Notre Dame education and how they transformed them into a dream career.
If you know what you want to do, but need help making it happen, BTD can help through programs like the BTD internship fund, which assists students with up to $2,000 to cover travel and living costs associated with summer internships. In addition, the Opportunity Hub job search platform serves as a dynamic online database that connects students to other students and alumni.

We do this through an integrated platform of career discernment, professional development, collaborative community, and immersive experience."
Arts & Letters is home to driven students at the University who are creative, conscientious, and innovative in their passions. Beyond the Dome supports and inspires them, encouraging a sense of confidence in personal and professional pursuits.
