College Appoints Associate Dean, Chairs, Directors

The College of Arts and Letters welcomes the following chairpersons and directors to their new appointments, effective July 1, 2009:

Peter Holland, McMeel Family Professor in Shakespeare Studies in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre, has been appointed associate dean for the arts for a three-year term.

Charles Rosenberg, professor of art history, has been appointed acting chair of the Department of Art, Art History, and Design for the 2009-2010 academic year. Current Chair Charlie Barber will be on leave and will resume his appointment as chairperson in July 2010.

Michael Desch, professor of political science, has been appointed chair of the Department of Political Science for a three-year term.

Daniel Lapsley, professor of psychology, has been appointed chair of the Department of Psychology for a three-year term.

Olivia Remie Constable, acting director of the Medieval Institute, has been appointed director for a five-year term.

Pam Wojcik, associate professor of film, television, and theatre has been appointed director of the Gender Studies Program for a three-year term.
