Two graduate students in the Department of Political Science recently had articles they wrote accepted for publication by The Journal of Politics, one of the most highly regarded journals in the discipline.
“Information, Expectations, and Racial Differences in Accountability,” coauthored by Patrick Flavin and Assistant Professor John Griffin, will appear in either the journal’s February or May 2007 issue. Jeff Church’s “Morality in Politics” will be published in May 2007.% % %
With the acceptances for Flavin and Church, graduate students in political science have now had articles accepted by all three of what are generally regarded as the field’s top journals during the 2005–06 academic year.
An article Sarah Houser wrote with Assistant Professor Eileen Hunt Botting, titled “Drawing the Line of Equality: Hannah Mather Crocker on Women’s Rights,” appears in the May 2006 issue of the American Political Science Review.
“Descriptive Representation and the Composition of African American Turnout,” which Michael Keane coauthored with Griffin, will be published in the October 2006 issue of The American Journal of Political Science. In addition, David Thunder’s “A Rawlsian Argument Against the Duty of Civility” is forthcoming in that journal in spring 2007.
