Thomas Slaughter, Andrew V. Tackes Professor of History, delivered the most recent lecture in the University of Notre Dame’s Saturday Scholar Series, “Exploring Lewis and Clark,” on Oct. 15. His presentation included an examination of the journey, the journals and the mythology surrounding these famous American explorers.

Sponsored by the College of Arts and Letters, the Saturday Scholar Series presentations begin three and one-half hours before kickoff of each home football game and are held in the auditorium of the Hesburgh Center for International Studies.

The next presentation will be Oct. 22 and will feature James McKenna, Rev. Edmund P. Joyce , C.S.C., Professor of Anthropology, with a lecture titled “Caring for Babies, Caring for Parents: What Human Infants Really Need and Why.”
