Information for Faculty
Mass and University Commencement Ceremony
The Commencement Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT on Sunday, May 23, with University President, Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., presiding, and will be followed by the University Commencement Ceremony at 11 a.m. EDT. There will be a 15-minute break between the Mass and University Commencement Ceremony.
Faculty attending only the University Commencement Ceremony should enter Notre Dame Stadium by 10:45 am. EDT to be seated. For health and safety reasons we will forgo the customary faculty procession.
Faculty will require a ticket for the Mass and University Commencement Ceremony and will be seated in a special faculty-only section.
A small group of faculty marshals working with the Office of the Registrar will lead the students into the Stadium on Sunday morning. Faculty marshals will receive separate marshal instructions from the Office of the Registrar, but still must complete the form below to obtain an electronic ticket for a reserved seat.
Arts and Letters Diploma Ceremony
The College of Arts and Letters will hold a diploma ceremony on Sunday, May 23 at 2 p.m. All faculty are to enter the north tunnel of the stadium for the diploma ceremony by 1:45 pm. There will not be a faculty or student processional this year.
If you signed up for a ticket to enter the stadium and sit on the field, you should have received an email with a link to your electronic ticket, with the subject line " Your Mobile Commencement Tickets Have Arrived!" If you do not have a ticket for the diploma ceremony, simply show up with your regalia and the ushers will let you in.
Faculty who attend the Mass/Commencement Ceremony in the morning of May 23 in the stadium have to exit the stadium and enter the north tunnel to reenter the stadium for the on-field seating.
The Stadium Bag Policy will be in effect. Hand-held fans are permitted.
Faculty will sit on the west side of the stadium. Ushers can assist you to your seat.
Bring water if possible; we anticipate that the weather will be very warm.
Note: For those who ordered box lunches for delivery after the morning ceremonies, the boxes will be available in the O'Shaughnessy Great Hall.
Faculty wishing to attend the Mass and University Commencement Ceremony or the College ceremonies should complete this form for Stephanie Mead in University Events to obtain an electronic ticket to each event.
Faculty are welcome to wear their own academic regalia.
For any regalia questions, please email Tricia Aschenbrenner.
If faculty have questions on or before Commencement Day, please contact Matt Zyniewicz at 574-261-4483 or Matthew.C.Zyniewicz.email@example.com.
