The art of color in beautiful handcrafted textiles, jewelry, and other handcrafts has been part of the indigenous culture of South America going back over 5,000 years. Andean art in the form of handcrafts inspires artists and artisans even today. In this cultural presentation, Quechua instructor and FLTA Jefferson Saransig will give hes personal experience in showing how the people of the Andes express their traditions and ideas in the products they make. He will also talk about the "mindalae" who travel to other countries to sell the products of the Andes.
Participants will make their own Andean-inspired bracelets using recycled materials!
