James Gajewski, MD will be given a talk titled “Value based healthcare payment, can we do this and maintain access to care consistent with Catholic teachings on justice-a clinician’s concerns with MACRA.

This talk will be on the past, present and future uses of human stem cell to treat cancer and diseases of bone marrow failure with a focus on historical and current outcomes of human stem therapy to treat cancer and the newer technology to genetically modify immune cells for treating cancer, especially the chimeric antigen receptor T cell.

Dr. James Gajewski has an AB from the University of Notre Dame in government and international studies and a MD was from Temple University. He did a residency in internal medicine at the University of Cincinnati and fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at UCLA. He has spent his whole career in academic medicine, being an assistant professor at UCLA and a professor of medicine at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Georgetown University, Temple University and Oregon Health and Science University. Currently Dr Gajewski serves as a consult to the Lu Daopei Hospital in Beijing.
