Lecture: "How Beijing’s Patenting Activity Affects the Entry of Foreign Firms into the Chinese Market"

-

Location: Hesburgh Center C103

China’s entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) required it to meet minimum standards for WTO members for the protection of intellectual property. Using data on patent applications in China, this lecture, by Rick Bond, the Joe L. Roby Professor of Economics at Vanderbilt University, will examine how China’s entry into the WTO, and the associated trade liberalization in China, affected the patenting behavior of foreign firms in China.

Sponsored by the Kellogg Institute for International Studies.
