Lecture: "The End of Antiquity? The Justinianic Plague Revisited”

Location: Medieval Institute, main reading room, Hesburgh Library 7th floor

Join the Medieval Institute for a lecture in the Byzantine Series by our 2018 Byzantine Fellow, Lee Mordechai. His recent publications investigate the interaction between premodern complex societies and environmental stress, covering case studies such as earthquakes in sixth-century Antioch and floods in Egypt over the longue durée. He also works on eleventh-century social history, late antique numismatics, and contemporary historical memory.

Reception to follow.
