Lecture: "The History and Politics of Human Shielding"

-

Location: C103 Hesburgh Center for International Studies

Neve Gordon discusses the dramatic increase of urban warfare, including insurgency and counterinsurgency, that inevitably entails civilians frequently occupying the front lines of the fighting and being framed as weapons of war.

Neve Gordon is a Leverhulme visiting professor at SOAS, University of London, and a professor of politics at Ben-Gurion University, Israel. His research focuses on international law, human rights, the ethics of violence, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

All are welcome.
