Danielle Roper is the Provost's Career Enhancement Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures and the Scholar for the Center for Race, Politics, and Culture at the University of Chicago. She is currently writing a book entitled, Hemispheric Blackface: Impersonation and Colorblindness in the Americas about blackface performance in  Latin America and the Caribbean.
