Thinking Poetically: A Symposium in Honor of Stephen Fredman

The symposium will celebrate the acclaimed poetics scholarship of Professor Stephen Fredman held in honor of his retirement. It will begin with short talks on present and future directions in poetics scholarship by Notre Dame poetry scholars, and will be followed by a celebratory reading by local poets, and a keynote panel with new scholarship by Peter Nicholls (NYU), Linda Kinnahan (Duquesne), and Jonathan Stalling (University of Oklahoma). The day will conclude with a talk by Stephen Fredman on the topic of “Thinking Poetically.”
