The Department of History welcomes Anne Hyde. Hyde is professor of history at the University of Oklahoma and the new editor of the Western Historical Quarterly. She is the author of the Bancroft prize-winning and Pulitzer finalist Empires, Nations, and Families: A New History of the North American West, 1800-1860 (Ecco Books, 2012).
