Location: Medieval Institute Reading Room, Hesburgh Library 715

Join the Medieval Institute for a lecture by Peter V. Loewen of Rice University. Loewen is this year’s graduate student-invited speaker and the author of Music in Franciscan Thought, an interdisciplinary study on the use of music in Franciscan hagiography, art, theology, and philosophy in the thirteenth century. His lecture will focus on his current research on vernacular song and Franciscan preaching.

A reception will follow the lecture.
