Publishing Seminar for Faculty

-

Location: 100-104 McKenna Hall, Notre Dame Conference Center

On Monday, November 17, the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts (ISLA) will sponsor a publishing seminar with Peter Dougherty, director of Princeton University Press, for faculty in the College of Arts and Letters. Dougherty has written and spoken extensively on scholarly publishing and is currently completing a book on that topic.

Dougherty will talk about the state of scholarly publishing today, followed by insights into what publishers are looking for and a discussion of how to negotiate through a book contract with an academic press.

ISLA will also schedule 15-20 minute meetings with Dougherty and individual Arts and Letters scholars on a first-come-first-served basis, either on Sunday afternoon, November 16, or Monday morning, November 17 before the seminar. If you are interested in a one-on-one meeting, please contact Ken Garcia as soon as possible with a range of times that will work for you.

To register for the seminar, please contact Ken Garcia at kgarcia@nd.edu.
