The Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study (NDIAS) presents a panel discussion on Minding the Modern: Human Agency, Intellectual Traditions, and Responsible Knowledge, a recent publication by Thomas Pfau, the Alice Mary Baldwin Professor of English and Professor of German at Duke University.

Featured Panelists will include:

  • Douglas Hedley, Reader in Hermeneutics and Metaphysics in the Faculty of Divinity, University of Cambridge and Templeton Fellow at NDIAS
  • Victoria Kahn, Katharine Bixby Hotchkis Chair in English, University of California, Berkeley
  • Alasdair MacIntyre, Rev. John A. O’Brien Senior Research Professor of Philosophy, University of Notre Dame

A response by the author will follow these panel presentations.

This event is free and open to all faculty, staff, students, and members of the general public.
A reception will follow in the Atrium of the Snite Museum of Art.
