John Dillon presents “From Oral Culture to Open Access: Yeats, Lorca, and the Digital Turn.” A Notebaert Graduate Presidential Fellow in the Department of English, John received his B.A. from Harvard University and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. within the interdiscplinary design of the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies.

Working with Professors Declan Kiberd and Diarmuid Ó Giolláin, his dissertation focuses on the intersection of folklore and European modernism. Together with fellow graduate student Nathaniel Myers, John produces Breac—a digital journal of Irish studies. The journal foucuses on Ireland’s culture, history and literature in a worldwide context.
