Please join Italian Studies at Notre Dame for an afternoon of recitations of excerpts from Dante’s Commedia performed around campus, followed by a lecture by Professors Theodore Cachey and Christian Moevs of Notre Dame and Professor Justin Steinberg of the University of Chicago. A reception in the Hesburgh Libraries will conclude the event.

2-3 p.m.: Simultaneous public readings from Hell, Purgatory and Paradise (all across campus)

3 p.m.: Choral reading of Saint Bernard in Paradise praying to the Virgin (the Grotto)

3:30pm: “What’s Wrong With This Picture? How to Read Dante’s Hell,” an illustrated public talk by Theodore Cachey, Christian Moevs, Justin Steinberg (Annenberg Auditorium, Snite Museum of Art)

4:45pm: Reception (Atrium, Snite Museum of Art)
