Midwest Symposium in German Studies

Location: McKenna Hall

On April 12 & 13, 2013, the Department of German and Russian Languages and Literatures will host the Fifth Annual Midwest Symposium in German Studies. The Nanovic Institute for European Studies and the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts (ISLA) also sponsor this event.

Founded at the University of Missouri-Columbia, the Midwest Symposium has previously been hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Over the past four years, the symposium has emerged as a vibrant forum for intellectual exchange amongst scholars of German literature, culture, language, and history from universities all over the Midwest.

The 2013 event will feature talks by eight different speakers from seven different institutions. Also attending are twenty guest discussants who will contribute to the lively atmosphere of the event.

The Symposium is open to the community at large.
